Completing this qualification confirms you as someone with a solid, nationally recognised grounding in commissioning for wellbeing. This qualification is designed for people for whom commissioning forms part of their role. It is aimed mainly at those who commission adult care and support services, though the content can also be applied to commissioning in health, housing, and children's care.

The course is made up of four mandatory units, taking you from the fundamentals of the commissioner role through to the full commissioning cycle and your own professional development.

•     The Role of the Commissioner for Wellbeing: understanding the purpose and responsibilities of the role.

•     Commissioning Together for Outcomes: working in partnership with providers, communities and other agencies.

•     The Commissioning Cycle: the full cycle from understanding need, through procurement, to review.

•     Professional Development for Effective Commissioning: reflecting on your own practice and keeping your knowledge current.

This course runs live online over Zoom, three sessions a week, two hours each. Highfield suggests 9 to 12 months as a guide for completing this qualification, but our accelerated timetable delivers the same hours in around 14 weeks, about three and a half months.
